Reading the scriptures about the 21 Sacraments, we find out that the ritual is completed after three signs - being the first one the Holy Assumption ritual. The first information we find about it is in the beginning of the game, actually in the second document we find, in Room 302, an old book behind the bookshelves next to the window:
"Through the Ritual of the Holy Assumption, he built
a world.
It exists in a space separate from the world of our Lord.
More accurately, it is within, yet without the Lord's world.
Unlike the world of our Lord, it is a world in extreme flux.
Unexpected doors or walls, moving floors, odd creatures, a world only him
can
control...
Anyone swallowed up by that world will live there for eternity, undying.
They will haunt that realm as a spirit.
How can our Lord forgive such an abomination...?

...It is important to travel lightly in that world. He who carries too
heavy
a burden will regret it...

Later in game, we find out that Walter conducted that ritual ten years ago in the secret sealed room on Room 302. Before being able to perform that ritual, Walter had to kill ten people and remove their hearts ("the blood of ten sinners"). Yes, creepy, I know *shudders* Police refers to those ten murders nowadays as the "Walter Sullivan's case" (if you're interested in knowing the names and a few basic facts of those victims, take a look here). And as I've said before, Walter comitted all those horrible crimes while being possessed by Valtiel, as part of a plan that Jimmy Stone, the leader of the Valtiel cult, and George Rosten, his right-hand man, had plotted in order to bring the Holy Mother back to life, something that would mean the return of Samael, the Devil, and the beginning of a new era that would surround the world in the deepest darkness.
So well - after talking with Joseph's ghost (at the beginning of the last world) and finding the pickaxe of Hope in front of the wall at the end of the corridor, between the bedroom's door and the bathromm's door, we get and read the letter from Joseph, found at the Laundry's room, that gives us the definitive hint we need to know the place where Walter carried out the Holy Assumption ritual has to be really close:
"He used this place as the locus for the creation
of his world. I'm certain he
must have performed the "Ritual of the Holy Assumption" near here.
But I'm not strong enough to stop him anymore..."
After that, we can finally get to the sealed room breaking the corridor's wall with the pickaxe.
