the story of silent hill 4
"It was two years ago
that Henry Townshend moved into
Room 302 of South Ashfield Heights,
an apartment building in the medium-sized city of Ashfield.
Henry was happy and enjoying
his new life.
But five days ago, something
strange happened.
He began to have a recurring dream
each night.
One other thing...
He couldn't leave Room 302.."
The starting point of Silent Hill 4 is kind of counfusing, like usually happens in this game series. Our main character, Henry Thownsend, is locked up in his room and happens to be completely isolated from the outside world. Even when he tries to catch the attention of any of his neighbours, he can't; he can't use the phone, watch the TV, open the windows to escape this prison that once was his home... and besides, there's a weird warning message in the door, that has been chained uo from the inside, telling him to don't go out.
After five days though, it seems something else is going on when a large hole appears suddenly in the bathroom's wall: through that hole, Henry can finally go outside - but instead of appearing simply somewhere in the street, he finds himself in a weird, lonely and dark world infested of dangerous, deadly creatures. Though he's able to recognize the places he visits, it seems something weird has heppened to them... besides of the monsters, there's almost nobody else but himself in that twisted world; and the only people he finds there, just one person in each "world" (different location) he visits, end brutally killed, without him being able to do anything to save them of their horrible fate.
One could think that's a nightmare, but it isn't - every time Henry manages to go back to his room after one of those horrible murders, he can find some proof that what was happened isn't a product of his imagination, but an irrefutable truth. As the story goes on, we soon find that everything seems to be related somehow to that secret religious cult existing in Silent Hill, and a prophecy written in its unholy bible... Horrified, Henry realizes that the person who has locked him up in his room could be the same one who's killing all these people, and that he could be the next victim if he doesn't do something to escape soon.
